The NFL is investigating a prank call made to Tyler Warren, who was picked by the Indianapolis Colts in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Scott Horner of the Indianapolis Star reports.
Warren, who had been linked to the New York Jets at No. 7 in some mock drafts, reportedly received a call informing him that the Jets would take him. That call was bogus.
The Colts selected him 14th overall.
The NFL determined that the son of an Atlanta Falcons assistant coach obtained the phone numbers of prospective draftees and called Shedeur Sanders on Thursday night, purporting to be New Orleans Saints. The 21-year-old told Sanders that the Saints would draft him, "but you're going to have to wait a little bit longer. Sorry about that," before hanging up.
Sanders fell to the fifth round before the Cleveland Browns selected him on Saturday.
Fox Sports reported that Warren's representatives believe the same person who called Sanders also called Warren.
