Suspended Dallas Cowboys defensive end Randy Gregory will apply for reinstatement on Thursday according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

The 60th-overall pick in the 2015 draft out of Nebraska, Gregory has played in only 14 career games for the Cowboys due to substance abuse problems.  The 25-year-old was banned for all but two games during the 2016 season, missed the entire 2017 season, and reportedly failed another drug test while suspended according to TMZ.  Gregory recently wrapped up six weeks in intensive drug and alcohol rehab and counseling.  Once he files reinstatement papers with the league office, Gregory will likely have to meet personally with Commisioner Roger Goodell and there is no guarantee he will be be allowed to continue his NFL career.  His return would be a boost for the Cowboys pass rush.
