Leonard Fournette "clears the air" with Coughlin and Jags brass

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette met with Jaguars EVP Tom Coughlin and the rest of the team's brain trust to "clear the air and move forward together for 2019" according to Ian Rapoport of

And Rapoport reports the meeting "went well for both sides," and that "things are headed in the right direction." Coughlin was very upset about the way an inactive Fournette sat on the bench in Week 17 (seriously), and the relationship was not exactly improved by the team's decision to void the remaining guarantees in Fournette's contract based on his one-game suspension by the league for leaving the bench and fighting with a Bills player in Week 12.

Many observers believe the Jags will blow up the roster after their disastrous 2018 season and will start by either trading or cutting Fournette, who they selected No.4-overall just two years ago.  But Fournette's trade value is at an all-time low as an oft-injured, perhaps too heavy running back who played in only eight games in 2018 and whose attitude is questioned by his own team.  The two sides are probably better off trying to mend fences and just turn to page to 2019.  Rebuilding an offensive line that actually blocks for Fournette would be a good start.
