Offseason vote of confidence for Colts RB Marlon Mack

This offseason has been a "vote of confidence" for third-year Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack according to Stephen Holder of The Athletic.

Despite being linked with running backs both in free agency and the draft, the Colts' only offseason addition to the backfield was former Kansas City Chiefs RB Spencer Ware, who only got $125,000 guaranteed on his one-year deal. Mack is Indy's undisputed No. 1 heading into the offseason program, and GM Chris Ballard recently said he thinks Mack "can play all three downs."

Originally a fourth-round pick out of South Florida in 2017, the only thing that has thus far kept Mack from entering the echelon of true franchise backs in the NFL is health concerns.  The 23-year-old has yet to play a full 16-game regular season in the pros and even when on the field has often been operating at less than 100-percent.  Despite that, he rushed for 908 yards in 14 games in 2018, is a skilled pass-catchier, and scored ten touchdowns.
