The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed safety Andrew Adams according to Greg Auman of The Athletic.

Originally an undrafted free agent out of Connecticut, the 26-year-old Adams spent two seasons with the New York Giants before landing with the Bucs last season.  He led Tampa with four interceptions in 13 games (including four starts) in 2018 but was not tendered as a restricted free agent and instead signed with the Detroit Lions in March.  Adams was released at the time of final cuts despite a strong showing in training camp.

He'll likely start as early as Thursday in place of safety Justin Evans, who's expected to miss at least eight weeks on injured reserve.
