A.J. Green says he expects to miss Week 10

Speaking to the media on Thursday, veteran Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green said that his ankle is swollen and he expected to miss this Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens according to Paul Dehner of The Athletic.

Man, that went south fast.  Green had been on track to make his 2019 debut as recently as 24 hours ago, but now the veteran's status appears to be up in the air again. The 31-year-old didn't practice in full Wednesday despite having the bye week to rehab his surgically-repaired ankle and, when asked about his star wideout's availability for Week 10, head coach Zac Taylor said, "We'll see".

Green said the swelling occurred in Wednesday's practice, and that he's day to day "trying to build it back." Green isn't talking in overly alarming tones, but it is certainly seeming more and more likely that the contract-year vet simply does not want to risk his health for the tanked Bengals-especially with an unproven rookie QB.
