The Browns’ search for a general manager to pair with coach Kevin Stefanski is heating up, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

They’ll interview Eagles Vice President of Football Operations Andrew Berry and Patriots Director of College Scouting Monti Ossenfort for their vacancy on Friday, a league source confirmed.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Network first reported it the Ossenfort interview, and Jim Trotter of NFL Network reported the exact day of Berry’s interview. first reported on Dec. 29th that the Browns want to bring Berry back into the fold, and reported on Monday that he was coming in this week for his interview.

The Browns will also interview Vikings assistant general manager George Paton for the job.

The club will interview 3-5 candidates for the job and hope to have their GM in place in the next couple of weeks, but coach Kevin Stefanski has said they’ll take their time to find the right person.

The Panthers also hope to interview Berry for their Executive Vice President of Football Operations job, but will have to offer final say over the roster to receive permission to interview him. Panthers GM Marty Hurney currently holds that distinction.

Ossenfort just completed his 17th season in the NFL and 14th with the Patriots. He’s been the Director of College Scouting the past five seasons after spending three years as the assistant director of college scouting and three before that as a national scout.
