Ezekiel Elliott's contract puts him on the spot this offseason as the Cowboys are likely to ask the veteran running back to take a pay cut.

Bob Sturm of The Athletic reported Wednesday that scouts believe "he has very little left in his legs, and the word is out."

"I believe he has one option for employment above the league minimum, and it is right here in Dallas," Sturm adds. "I could be wrong, but if I am, it is a very low number. Maybe one year for $2 million or $2.5 million, which is a far cry from what he is used to."

Elliott is scheduled to make $10.9 million in base salary in 2023 but has said he is willing to take a paycut to stay in Dallas but it's unsure he would accept a contract near the team minimum.
