Saints running back Alvin Kamara pleaded "not guilty" during his arraignment on charges of conspiracy to commit battery and battery resulting in substantial bodily harm according to David Charns of 8NewsNow.com in Las Vegas.

The charges resulted from an incident during Pro Bowl weekend in Las Vegas in 2022 but the case was postponed several times, allowing Kamara to play the entire 2022 season.  The trial is now scheduled to start on July 31. That is during training camp, which is not ideal for Kamara's hopes of playing this season. Kamara's status will remain up in the air until we get a settlement and/or the legal (and extralegal NFL) process plays out.  That said, it seems likely the Kamara will miss at least part of the season.
