The Denver Broncos have signed former Bengals running back Samaje Perine to a two-year contract worth $7.5 million according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

He can earn another $1 million with incentives. Perine will presumably be a big part of Denver's backfield next year, though how much of the rotation he gets to see probably depends on Javonte Williams' health and who else the team adds in free agency. At the worst, it's likely that this contract will keep him as the team's main third-down back.  It is a role he has performed well for the Bengals the past three seasons, as he rushed for 394 yards, caught 38 passes for 287 yards, and scored six touchdowns in 16 regular season games in 2022.  

As for the Bengals, they could be starting from scratch in their running backs corps after losing Perine in free agency and persistent rumors that they plan to release Joe Mixon this offseason.
