Bill Belichick wants a return of Mack Wilson, Chris Mason of Masslive reports.
The Patriots inked the 25-year-old linebacker to a new one-year deal worth up to $2.2 million, a source confirmed Acquired for Chase Winovich last offseason, Wilson finished his first year in Foxborough with 1.5 sacks, 36 tackles, two tackles for loss and two quarterback hits.
A speedy sub linebacker, Wilson fell out of favor a bit down the stretch and didn’t get a single defensive snap in the team’s final five games. Still, clearly he enjoyed the Foxborough experience — and Belichick liked what he saw — because Wilson is back for a second season.
