The Detroit Lions have signed receiver/return specialist Kalif Raymond to a two-year extension according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

Financial terms have not yet been disclosed.

The 29-year-old Raymond entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Broncos in 2016 and has also spent time with the Jets, Giants, and Titans before joining the Lions in 2021.  While his contrbutions won't garner him much notice in the fantasy community, he has become a valuable asset in Detroit.  Raymond appeared in 16 games in 2021, recording 48 receptions for 576 yards with four touchdowns. Last year he caught 47 passes for 616 yards.

Raymond has also developed into one of the best punt returners in the league, taking one back for a touchdown in 2022 for the first time in his career. He averaged 13.2 yards per return last season.

Commentary:  We love to see valuable journeymen get rewarded for their contributions.  With all of the offensive talent in Detroit, however, we would not be surprised to see Raymond's receiving numbers go down in 2023.
