The Steelers’ defense could be shorthanded for awhile.

Defensive tackle Cameron Heyward could miss multiple weeks because of a groin injury he suffered in the Steelers’ 30-7 season-opening loss to the San Francisco 49ers.  This according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

Garafolo adds that an IR stint is likely, and that surgery is an option being considered at this point.

Heyward left the Steelers’ lopsided loss to the 49ers midway through the contest and he was quickly rules out.
