The Cleveland Browns defense under Jim Schwartz has had an impressive start to the 2023 season.

But in Week 4 they are playing against the Batimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson who can wreak havoc on a defense with his running ability.

Schwartz is aware of the challenge and is planning on stopping Jackson.

"You can err on the other side of Lamar Jackson," Schwartz said Thursday via Nick Shook of NFL.com. "If you sit there and chew the chickens, as we say, you're not gonna get him either. We're gonna rely on our team speed, we're gonna rely on team defense, we're gonna rely on running through with leverage and try to take the fight to him as opposed to sitting back and trying to hem him in."

"He's one of the best athletes in the NFL and he just happens to play the quarterback position," Schwartz said. "If we saw running backs doing that, we wouldn't bat an eye. We've got to tackle him like he's a running back, tackle him like he's a wide receiver. Just because the ball's in his hand doesn't mean that he's still not a threat to run. … We're gonna try to be physical. If he does run, we're gonna try to play our game and put some hits on him and those kinds of things."
