Apparently Bailey Zappe couldn’t dethrone Mac Jones on the practice field this week, Chris Mason of Masslive reports.
After splitting first-team reps ahead of Sunday’s game in the Meadowlands, the Patriots still plan to start Jones at quarterback against the Giants, according to the Boston Herald's Andrew Callahan. Jones was pulled from New England’s most recent loss in Germany, and all week Bill Belichick elected not to reveal his starting quarterback.
“I’ve told everybody to be ready to go,” Belichick said. “Hopefully that’s what they’re all doing. I’m not going to announce starters at every position or whatever. Everybody will be ready to go.”
