Packers GM Brian Gutekunst said the team plans to sign Jordan Love to a long-term extension this offseason according to Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk.com.

Love is under contract through next season, but Gutekunst said the team would “go down that road” when asked about the possibility of a long-term extension for the 25-year-old signal caller. Love threw for 4159-32-11 in the regular season and lit up the Cowboys for 272 yards and three touchdowns in the NFC Wild Card round. The former first-round pick has only been at the helm for one season, but the Packers appear ready to name him as the franchise quarterback for the foreseeable future.
