Baltimore County Police have suspended a domestic violence investigation into Ravens' rookie wide receiver Zay Flowers without criminal charges, according to documents obtained by WJZ in Baltimore.

However, the case could be reopened if the department receives additional information.

"For lack of a better explanation, it just means that they've done all the investigation that they're able to do at the moment, and absent any further information coming forward or witness being willing to go on the record or identification that can be made as to the particular suspect in the case, it's no longer active," Baltimore attorney Adam Ruther told WJZ.

The investigation stems from an allegation of a domestic violence assault unfolding inside an Owings Mills townhome on January 16.

A 911 dispatcher got a call from a woman who sounded in "distress" and was "crying," but said there was no emergency before handing up the phone.

Police said that attempts to reconnect with her hit dead ends.

Five days after the 911 call, the woman called police in Acton, Massachusetts, accusing a high-profile NFL player of a violent domestic incident in Owings Mills where she was allegedly left with multiple bruises, and her belongings were "trashed."

According to the police report, the woman said the brother of the NFL player "also drew a gun."

Police said she refused to name the football player, but said the two are "all over social media."

Identifying information is all redacted in the report, but it does state Flowers declined to be interviewed by police through an attorney.

The reported incident occurred on January 16 at a residence in Owings Mills, according to a Baltimore County Police case report.

Last week, lawmakers demanded the release of a 911 call related to the case.

The investigation was deemed suspended as of February 16.
