The San Francisco 49ers are signing defensive end Leonard Floyd to a two-year, $20 million deal with $12 million guaranteed in year one, David Bonilla of 49ers Webzone reports. This according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.  The deal could end up being worth up to $24 million and can become official on Wednesday, the start of the new league year.

Floyd, 31, has recorded 370 tackles, including 63 for a loss, 122 quarterback hits, 58 sacks, two safeties, 14 passes defensed, two interceptions, a touchdown, and four forced fumbles in 121 game appearances (120 starts) over his eight NFL seasons with the Bears, Los Angeles Rams, and Bills. He has started at least 16 games and played in every game each season since 2018.

The signing complements All-Pro pass rusher Nick Bosa on the other side of the defensive front. Floyd has recorded at least nine sacks in each of the past four seasons and was part of the Rams' Super Bowl LVI-winning team.
