Ahead of the mandatory minicamp starting Tuesday, the Eagles signed Max Scharping, who adds depth and playoff experience along with the ability to play both guard positions, Chris McPherson of the team's official website reports.

A second-round pick of the Houston Texans in 2019 out of Northern Illinois, Scharping spent his first three seasons in Houston before being claimed off waivers by the Bengals prior to the 2022 season. Cincinnati re-signed Scharping for the 2023 season.

Over the past two seasons with the Bengals, Scharping has played in 34 games, including the playoffs. In the Bengals' run to the AFC Championship Game in 2022, Scharping started at right guard in all three playoff games following a Week 18 injury to Alex Cappa.
