The Kansas City Chiefs acquired tight end Peyton Hendershot in a trade with the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday afternoon, Ed Easton Jr. of Chiefs Wire reports. This according to a report from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Hendershot had 15 receptions for 141 yards and a touchdown during his brief career in Dallas. In college, he appeared in 32 games for the Indiana Hoosiers, finishing as the school’s career leader for tight ends with 136 receptions for 1,479 yards and ranking second with 14 receiving touchdowns.
The Chiefs decided to cut veteran Irv Smith Jr. earlier on Tuesday, opening the roster space and deal to acquire Hendershot to proceed.
