The Cleveland Browns continue to tinker with their 53-man roster, releasing quarterback Tyler Huntley and re-signing running back D'Onta Foreman according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic.
After leaving four quarterbacks on their initial 53-man roster, the Browns have opted to part ways with Huntley, who threw for 322 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions in three preseason outings while completing 72.5 percent of his passes. Huntley spent four seasons backing up Lamar Jackson in Baltimore and could be a favorite to return to the Ravens, with 38-year-old Josh Johnson being the only quarterback on the Ravens’ roster. Huntley will be free to sign with whoever he chooses.
Foreman was part of the initial cutdown, but his release was thought to be a procedural move while the Browns figure out what to do elsewhere with their roster. Foreman will combine with Pierre Strong to back up Jerome Ford while Nick Chubb (knee) continues to rehab from last year’s season-ending injury. He’s an interesting stash for the time being but doesn’t have any stand-alone upside in fantasy.
