About 2010 Free Agency

The NFL's Collective Bargaining Agreement(CBA) is set to expire unless a new agreement is reached in March.

Many players in their fourth or fifth year who normally would become unrestricted free agents could now become restricted free agents.

2010 now could become an uncapped year if a new CBA is not reached.

Additionally, there will be a restriction placed on the final eight playoff teams this year from signing unrestricted free agents unless they lose one.

About our free-agent list

Our free agent list is a list of potential free agents who may be available due to years of service and contract status.  The NFL Players Association does not release the "official" list until after the regular season.

Potential Unrestricted Free Agents(UFA) are those with 6 or more seasons and whose contract expire at the conclusion of the 2009 season.

Potential Restricted Free agents(RFA) are those who have completed 3 seasons and whose contract expire at the conclusion of the 2009 season.  Players who have an asterisk(*) after their names are players who have completed 4 or 5 seasons who could become unrestricted free agents if a new CBA is reached prior to March.  If not they will become Restricted Free agents.  They can be signed by another team but their current team can match an offer and receive compensation if they do not.
