Indianapolis Colts veteran wide receiver T.Y. Hilton returned to practice on Wednesday for the first time since the start of the 2021 season according to Zak Keefer of The Athletic.

Hilton suffered a neck injury during the preseason and underwent surgery in August.  The return to practice means the Colts have designated him for return from injured reserve and the team has 21 days to activate him to the regular roster.  Head coach Frank Reich told reporters the veteran wideout is ahead of schedule and would not rule him out for the team's Week 6 game against the Houston Texans.  At age 31 and plagued by injuries the past couple of seasons, Hilton is no longer the offensive weapon he once was but he does have five 1000-yard seasons on his resume.  He will likely take a back seat to emerging No.1 wideout Michael Pittman but, sitting at 1-4 and in danger of already falling out of the AFC playoff race,  the Colts can use all the help they can get.
