Los Angeles Chargers right tackle Bryan Bulaga underwent core muscle surgery and is out indefinitely according to Gilbert Manzano of the Orange County Register.

Bulaga has been on injured reserve with a back injury suffered in Week 1 but it is clear he is not returning anytime soon and it is fair to question whether he will suit up at any point in 2021. The former 2010 first-round pick was a fixture on the Packers offensive line for nine seasons before signing a free agent contract to join the Chargers in 2020 but played only 10 games in his first season in LA.  Now 32 years old, Bulaga has a history of back issues and has played a full 16-game slate just twice in the past 10 years.

Former XFL player Storm Norton has been starting in place of Bulaga. Pro Football Focus has graded Norton as a middling run-blocker and a poor pass-blocker. Despite his uninspiring tape, the Chargers' offense should continue to put points on the board against Baltimore this week.
