The Cleveland Browns are awaiting a lengthy suspension for Deshaun Watson. There is concern from the NFL Players Association that the league will look to suspend the former Clemson standout for the entire 2022 season, if not indefinitely, Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network reports.  This according to sources.

Josina Anderson of CBS Sports reported on Thursday that there were talks between the NFL, NFLPA, and Watson's advisors to negotiate over discipline, and that talks "fell apart" over the number of games missed.

As reported earlier this week, the NFLPA will fight the NFL over a lengthy suspension arguing that any suspension for Watson without pay would be excessive in the wake of light treatment of three NFL owners who were recently involved in off-the-field transgressions: Commanders owner Daniel Snyder, Patriots owner Robert Kraft and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.  The situation with Daniel Snyder is intensifying this week with the revelation of a sexual assault allegation.

It appears as if the NFL is leaning toward a lengthy suspension and with that in mind, the Browns will move forward with Jacoby Brissett at quarterback.
