The Giants have agreed to terms with cornerback Amani Oruwariye to a one year-deal. Dan Benton of USA Today's Giants Wire reports.  This according to Jordan Schultz of theScore.

The 27-year-old Oruwariye was originally a fifth-round pick of the Detroit Lions in the 2019 NFL draft. He had spent the first four years of his career in Detroit before becoming an unrestricted free agent earlier this month.

In 53 career games (36 starts), the 6-foot-2, 205-pound Oruwariye has recorded 173 tackles (143 solo, four for a loss), two fumble recoveries, 24 passes defensed, and nine interceptions. He was leading the NFL in interceptions before suffering a thumb injury in 2021.

Mike Moraitis of USA Today's Giants Wire reports that the Giants are set to sign former Buffalo Bills tight end, Tommy Sweeney.

The news comes from ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, who did not immediately reveal the length or financials of the deal.

Sweeney appeared in 24 games (four starts) over four years in Buffalo, totaling 18 catches for 165 yards and one touchdowns in that span. He missed the entire 2020 campaign after being diagnosed with myocarditis.
