Will the Minnesota Vikings re-sign quarterback Kirk Cousins? This decision will cause a ripple effect across the entire league.
The latest rumblings surrounding Cousins come from ESPN’s Dan Graziano. He and Jeremy Fowler compiled a notebook of tidbits they heard in Las Vegas at Radio Row for Super Bowl LVIII, Tyler Forness of USA Today's Vikings Wire reports.
Kirk Cousins’ impending free agency is a story at this year’s Super Bowl, much like it was six years ago when the big game was in Minneapolis. The Minnesota Vikings are working to see if they can keep their 35-year-old quarterback — who is coming off an Achilles tear — and they’d like to have an answer in the next few weeks so they can plan accordingly.
Minnesota’s other business — most prominently a potential new deal for defensive end Danielle Hunter before he hits the market — is on hold until it figures out what’s going on with Cousins.
There isn’t a ton of new information here except for a potential extension for Danielle Hunter being on hold. That doesn’t mean that the Vikings will be waiting until the final second with Hunter. By the end of the NFL Scouting Combine, there should be a real sense of whether the Vikings and Cousins will get a deal done.
