On Monday, Eagles center Jason Kelce made official what has long been expected, Benjamin Paul of Insdie The Birds reports.
The 36-year-old future Hall-of-Fame center publicly announced his retirement after 13 seasons in the NFL, going from a 2011 sixth round draft pick to one of the greatest centers in league history.
Joined by his family and several key members of the Eagles organization, Kelce could not hold back tears in an emotional press conference (in which no questions were taken) discussing his football journey from Cleveland Heights all the way to an NFL career in which he earned seven Pro Bowl appearances, six first-team All-Pro berths, and a Super Bowl ring.
He offered his perspective on the biggest moments of his career while taking the time to thank everyone who had an impact on his life and football journey, last but perhaps most importantly his longtime offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland.
