The Russell Wilson era in Denver is at an end.
The Broncos have informed the quarterback that he is being released, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday. The team confirmed that Wilson would be released after the new league year begins on March 13.
The Broncos traded for Wilson from the Seahawks in a blockbuster deal during the 2022 offseason, but the pairing hasn't produced positive results. Through his two years under center in Denver the Broncos have gone a combined 13-21, and by the end of the 2023 season head coach Sean Payton had benched Wilson in favor of Jarrett Stidham.
