The New Orleans Saints used one of their last remaining chips to clear more than $6 million in 2024 salary cap space when they restructured Taysom Hill's contract this week, Luke Johnson of NOLA.com reports.
The Saints converted nearly $9 million of Hill's base salary into signing bonus, cutting his 2024 salary cap hit from $15.8 million to $9.2 million. The move pushed the Saints approximately $12 million below the salary cap.
Hill has one more year remaining on his contract, but the Saints were able to further spread out the burden into two already existing void years. His 2025 salary cap hit is now nearly $18 million.
Along with running back Alvin Kamara, Hill's contract was one of the last ones the Saints had not restructured this offseason to create cap space.
