The Miami Dolphins are placing quarterback Tua Tagovailoa on injured reserve, forcing him to miss a minimum of four games while recovering from a concussion, Hal Habib of the Palm Beach Post reports.
Coach Mike McDaniel had said Monday, in his most recent meeting with reporters, that he and general manager Chris Grier would discuss the possibility in the coming days after obtaining additional medical results on Tagovailoa. Those tests obviously showed that Tagovailoa needs time to recover.
“Not enough information quite yet," McDaniel had said. "That’s going to be driven by medical experts."
Tagovailoa was injured while scrambling for a first down in the second half of Thursday night’s 31-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills. He also suffered at least two concussions during the 2022 season.
