Sunday might have been the final step in Anthony Richardson’s recovery from the right oblique injury that knocked him out of the Pittsburgh game and cost him two starts.

The Colts are hoping there is nothing left to do, Joel Erickson of the Indianapolis Star reports.  

Indianapolis believes Richardson will return to the starting lineup for Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins at Lucas Oil Stadium, taking over from veteran backup Joe Flacco after a 20-17 win over the Titans on Sunday.

“Unless there’s a setback, I think he’ll be ready to go,” Indianapolis head coach Shane Steichen said.

Richardson initially thought he’d back in the starting lineup against Tennessee.

When the 22-year-old quarterback met with local reporters last Wednesday, he was optimistic about the progress he’d made, citing a breakthrough in a workout conducted on the rainy Everbank Stadium grass before the Colts dropped another road game at Jacksonville without Richardson at the helm.
