The Chargers, Steelers, and Saints have all inquired about a trade for Jets wide receiver Mike Williams according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic.

Both the Steelers and Saints were players in the Davante Adams sweepstakes but were out-willed by Aaron Rodgers and the Jets — as many expected. It should come as no surprise that both teams are now interested in Williams, who has become available following the Jets’ trade for Adams.

Williams, who is on a one-year deal he signed earlier this offseason, has been lightly used thus far. He has just 10 catches for 145 scoreless yards on 17 targets, and has been played well behind Rodgers buddy Allen Lazard.  The good news for Williams, is he appears healthy since returning from a torn ACL he suffered last season, and he should have plenty to offer a team that’s interested in his services.

The most intriguing team on the list is the Chargers considering that they released him during the offseason.  They are the team that drafted him and the team where he enjoyed virtually all of his success in the NFL.  His familiarity with Justin Herbert is a plus but he would be returning to a drastically different offense now run by Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman.
