New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara became the subject of social media rumors Saturday morning when multiple X accounts made posts incorrectly crediting Adam Schefter as the source of a fake report that the eighth-year pro had requested a trade.
Multiple accounts shared an image that resembled graphics typically generated by ESPN's Schefter when big NFL news breaks.
By late Saturday morning, Kamara felt the need to respond to the fake report, Patrick McGee of NOLA.com reports.
"I ain request a trade.. so that's a lie," Kamara said in a post to X. "I'm in an orange robe on the way to Knoxville.. #WhoDat"
Kamara also shared the fake post and said, "Incorrect.."
Kamara is headed to Saturday's Alabama-Tennessee game to watch the two teams he played for during his college days. The running back started his career with the Crimson Tide, before transferring to Hutchinson (Kansas) Community College and the University of Tennessee.
