In an update to our previous story, an MRI on Monday confirmed that Browns quarterback DeShaun Watson tore his Achilles in Sunday's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals and is out for the season according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

His time as the Browns' starting QB is also almost certainly over despite the huge amount of money the Haslems owe him on his fully guaranteed contract.  The signal-caller is considering a “bridge” operation to repair the injury according to outlets, but it won’t change his status for the remainder of the campaign. Watson was a disaster in 2024 with a 5/3 TD/INT ratio and a 5.3 YPA while “leading” the Browns to a 1-6 record.

It also seems likely that Watson's NFL career could be over-what team is going to want to take the huge public relations hit bringing him in would most certainly trigger when he was such a disaster on the field in Cleveland?
