Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love avoided a significant groin injury coming out of Sunday’s win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Packers also believe cornerback Jaire Alexander avoided a significant knee injury after testing on Monday, Zach Kruse of Packers Wire reports.
Per Rob Demovsky of ESPN, an MRI on Alexander’s knee revealed no significant damage, and there’s still a chance he could play Sunday against the Detroit Lions.
Alexander appeared to be injured on the Packers’ final defensive play. He went to play a pass thrown into the end zone, but tight end Evan Engram leapt to make the catch for the touchdown and Alexander hobbled off on one leg behind the play.
Testing on Monday ruled out the worst-case scenario. Alexander, a two-time All-Pro, has two interceptions and is tied for the team lead in passes defensed through eight games in 2024.
Matt LaFleur had no update on Alexander when asked Monday. The Packers won’t practice or release an injury report until Wednesday.
