Aaron Rodgers believes the New York Jets continue to have a problem with internal discussions getting leaked to the media, Brenden Deeg of theScore reports.
When asked Wednesday if it's still an issue, Rodgers told reporters: "100% yes."
A reporter countered by asking how he would stop the leaks, to which a smiling Rodgers said: "It starts with figuring out what they are and putting a stop to it."
The veteran signal-caller was frustrated last year when a report surfaced about quarterback Zach Wilson being hesitant to play again after getting benched, calling the leak "chickenshit at its core."
"When you use sources and, whether intentional or unintentional, try to assassinate someone's character like that report does for Zach, I have a real hard time with that," Rodgers said in December.
He added: "You're basically saying that this kid is quitting on the team and doesn't want to play and is giving the middle finger to the organization."
The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported Saturday that it "appears increasingly likely" that Rodgers could be placed on injured reserve in the coming weeks. Head coach Jeff Ulbrich dismissed that report Monday, saying there has been no discussion of shutting down the 40-year-old quarterback.
New York is in the midst of another disappointing season, sitting at 3-8 ahead of Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks. Since the start of the campaign, the Jets have demoted offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, fired head coach Robert Saleh, and dismissed general manager Joe Douglas.
Rodgers is on pace to have one of the worst seasons of his career. He sits 28th in success rate this year among 35 qualifying quarterbacks, according to Ben Baldwin's database. His 88.9 passer rating would be the lowest mark of his career since becoming a full-time starter in 2008.
