Pro Football Hall-of-Famer Randy Moss announced Friday that he will be stepping away from his role on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown show “for an extended time” according to a statement from ESPN.

Moss announced last Sunday that he was dealing with an internal health issue, although he has not revealed the exact nature of it.  He said he went public because of social media comments about his eyes looking yellow and that he was wearing sunglasses on the air.  He directed his message to men and urged them to get checkups and bloodwork done.

ESPN says Moss has their “full support” and that they will welcome him back once he’s ready to resume working.
