D.J. Reed looking to move on from Jets: 'Ready to see what's next for me'

Cornerback D.J. Reed isn't keen on returning to the New York Jets this spring, Matthew Washington of theScore reports.

"I'm ready to go to free agency, bro," Reed told NFL columnist Tyler Dunne. "I'm ready to see what's next for me."

Reed's frustration with the Jets appeared to spill over after the team's 40-14 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. He seemingly blamed New York's struggles on the offense, which has scored just one touchdown over the past two games.

"It comes down to complementary football, bro," Reed said, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini. "We're playing a high-powered offense. Josh Allen is ... a great player. We have to get shit going - on offense, on special teams. You keep having our defense go out there. Eventually, they're going to do something good.

"So yes, defense, we need to be better, but we have to play complementary football."

The Jets have dropped six of their last seven games entering the final week of the regular season. They fell behind the division rival Bills 40-0, which Reed called "embarrassing," per The Athletic's Zak Rosenblatt.

"I was at peace with everything last week. It finally took me last week to be like: It is what it is," Reed said. "But the frustration just creeped in. Even though we've got a bad record, we've still gotta go out there and put stuff on tape that's good."

Fellow cornerback Sauce Gardner suggested that some players might be checked out with the 4-12 Jets eliminated from playoff contention. Interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich refuted Gardner's notion, saying he didn't see that on film, per Rosenblatt.
