Tommy Rees made an 18-year journey from Cleveland Browns ball boy to offensive coordinator, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.

The Browns are promoting the 32-year-old Rees to OC according to NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero.  This per sources informed of the situation.

Rees was a Browns ball boy at 14, when his dad, Bill, served as the club's director of player personnel.

Now, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski is entrusting the former Notre Dame quarterback to help aid an offense that lost its way last season.

Rees takes over for Ken Dorsey, fired after one year with the club. Rees joined the Browns staff in 2024 as a pass game specialist and tight ends coach. Previously, he'd had stints as OC/QB coach at Notre Dame (2020-2022) and Alabama (2023).

Promoting Rees, now one of the youngest coordinators in the league, is the latest signal that Stefanski is expected to return to play-calling duties in Cleveland after handing them off to Dorsey last season.
