In a movie that’s more procedural than beneficial to the club, the Baltimore Ravens claimed wide receiver Diontae Johnson off waivers from the Houston Texans on Wednesday, Glenn Erby of Ravens Wire reports.
Baltimore is likely making the move for compensatory draft pick purposes or financial reasons and is bringing Johnson back on paper until after the Super Bowl.
Claimed off waivers from Baltimore two days before the Christmas matchup against the Ravens, Johnson played 38 offensive snaps for the Texans in the Week 18 regular-season finale (22) and last Saturday’s wild-card playoff win over the Chargers (16).
