Like with practically everything else in town, a snow storm has put the New Orleans Saints' coaching search temporarily on pause, Matthew Para of NOLA.com reports.
The storm forced the Saints to reschedule their in-person interviews this week as the team pushed back meetings with New York Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka, Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver and Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed.
Kafka was set to interview with the Saints on Tuesday, while Weaver and Glenn were supposed to meet with the team a day later. But now those will likely happen later in the week. ESPN reported Kafka's interview is being eyed for sometime between Friday and Sunday.
The Saints were on track to begin their second round of interviews with the three candidates, a crucial step in the process. NFL teams weren't allowed to meet in-person with any coach under contract until Monday, and the clubs who are playing the conference championships can't have coaches meet with any other team until after the championship round (Jan. 27).
New Orleans is also expected to schedule an in-person interview with former Dallas Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy sometime this week, a source said.
That meeting, too, depends on weather.
