The Chicago Bears coaching staff under new head coach Ben Johnson is starting to take shape. After landing a Detroit Lions coworker in Antwaan Randle El, Johnson has landed another assistant coach from Detroit, Alyssa Barbieri of Bears Wire reports.

It looks like J.T. Barrett is set to be the Bears quarterbacks coach, according to his Instagram profile. Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs confirmed. This marks the third hire for Johnson's coaching staff after Randle El as assistant head coach and receivers coach and Al Harris as defensive passing game coordinator.

Barrett got his coaching start Dan Campbell in Detroit, where he was an offensive assistant in 2022 before being promoted to assistant quarterbacks coach in 2023, a role he's served in for the past two seasons.

Barrett has worked with Jared Goff for the past three seasons. Now, he'll be tasked with helping develop quarterback Caleb Williams, who's entering his second season.
