Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is not exactly "officially official" as the next New Orleans Saints head coach but he is believed he has "strong interest" in hiring Brandon Staley as his defensive coordinator according to Mike Silver of The Athletic.
Signs have been pointing to this combo for some time. Staley had the No. 1 defense with the Rams in 2020, which he parlayed into the Chargers’ head coaching job in 2021. In three seasons, Staley went 24-24 with no playoff wins. After being fired last offseason, he spend the 2024 season as assistant head coach of the 49ers.
Moore and Staley know each other well as Moore was Staley's OC in 2023.
Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports that the Saints also have interest in Bucs outside linebackers coach George Edwards for the position.
