In what could be described as a Rooney Rule interview, Eagles running backs coach Jemal Singleton recently met with the Saints about their vacant offensive coordinator job, Glenn Erby of Eagles Wire reports.
Singleton joins Philadelphia quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier and defensive backs coach Christian Parker as staff members who have had interviews with New Orleans since Kellen Moore was hired as head coach.
In 2021, Singleton left the Kentucky Wildcats to become the running backs coach on Nick Sirianni’s staff.
Before Kentucky, Singleton was on the Cincinnati Bengals’ coaching staff and played collegiately at the Air Force Academy.
Singleton has coached Saquon Barkley, D’Andre Swift, Miles Sanders, Joe Mixon, Gio Bernard, Marshawn Lynch, Marlon Mack, Nyheim Hines, and Frank Gore.
