"Several teams" have called the Rams about Matthew Stafford according to Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports.
Per Schultz, the belief is the Rams would want a first-round pick for Stafford. Schultz also made it clear that the Rams want Stafford, who is looking for a new contract, back for the 2025 season. Teams always make calls when there is any chance of a marquee quarterback being moved, but the Rams wouldn’t have many options to replace Stafford if they ship him off.
Given the almost annual rumors of Sean McVay flirting with retirement, it’s hard to imagine the team choosing 2025 as the offseason to call it quits on Stafford. Still, the idea that his days in LA are numbered does appear to have legs. This will be a recurring story over the next month as free agency approaches.
