There's a new workhorse in the Los Angeles Chargers' RB stable, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.
The Chargers are expected to sign former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris to a one-year deal worth up to $9.25 million, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero reported Monday.
With last year's leading rusher J.K. Dobbins an impending free agent and Gus Edwards released, the Chargers are bringing in a new lead back who's churned out four straight 1,000-yard seasons to begin his career.
A Pro Bowler as a rookie in 2021, the Pittsburgh first-round pick has been one of the most durable backs in the game. He's started 68 straight games since entering the league, standing as the only running back in the NFL to start more than 61 games since 2021 and having tallied a league-high 1,277 touches in that same span.
