The Indianapolis Colts are among multiple teams who are still interested in trading for Cincinnati Bengals star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson, Paul Bretl of Colts Wire reports.  This according to Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports.

"Sources indicate multiple teams, including the Indianapolis Colts — who have his former defensive coordinator in Lou Anarumo — are interested in trading for him," wrote Schultz. "However, satisfying both Hendrickson with a new contract and the Bengals with trade compensation is proving difficult — perhaps even impossible."

The Bengals just signed wide receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins to massive extensions of their own. However, there is "still hope" of getting a deal done with Hendricks--who has requested a trade--as Schultz put it recently.

"It won't be easy, but they are not giving up there," said Schultz about Hendrickson and the Bengals this past Monday.

The fit between Hendrickson and the Colts is an obvious one. Current Colts' defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo was in Cincinnati the previous four seasons and a part of Hendrickson's most productive seasons.

During that span, Hendrickson totaled 74 or more pressures each season, which includes ranking third in that category among all edge defenders in 2024 and third in 2021 as well, according to PFF. He also led the NFL in sacks this past year.

"I was blessed to be productive under his scheme," said Hendrickson during Super Bowl week on the Pat McAfee Show. "I think he does a good job of making it a very open room, meaning like you can talk to him about scheme--this doesn't necessarily fit to what we think we're going to do to attack them. Very organic and he's a leader of elite men. He got guys at 4-8 to rally behind a cause and continue to win football games."
