The Chargers are hosting free agent tight end Tyler Conklin for a visit, Gavino Borquez of Chargers Wire reports. This according to NFL Media's Mike Garafolo.
Los Angeles is in need of a pass-catching tight end, so bringing in Conklin makes sense. Will Dissly, Tucker Fisk and McCallan Castles are the only other tight ends on the roster.
The 29-year-old Conklin spent the past three seasons with the Jets.
In 2024, he played 16 games with 15 starts, finishing with 51 catches for 449 yards and four touchdowns.
Selected in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL draft, Conklin began his professional career with the Vikings, where he played for four seasons.
Conklin cashed in with New York in 2022 on a three-year deal worth $21 million.
In seven seasons in the league, Conklin has 263 receptions for 2,544 yards and 11 TDs.
