The Atlanta Falcons are putting their money where their mouth is regarding quarterback Kirk Cousins. Despite rumors suggesting the team would release Cousins before his $10 million roster bonus was due on March 15, the Falcons didn't blink at the deadline.
Now that those around the NFL know Atlanta is serious about keeping the veteran quarterback on the roster, trade inquiries have begun, Matt Urben of Falcons Wire reports. According to a report from NFL insider Josina Anderson, the Falcons have been receiving calls to gauge their interest in moving Cousins
"Atlanta has been getting calls,” a source told Anderson, who went on to reveal the potential cost of acquiring Cousins. "I heard talk of a 3rd-round pick being potentially actionable."
Cousins, 36, showed he could still play last season before losing his job due to arguably the worst five-game stretch of his NFL career. The Falcons went with Michael Penix Jr. for the final three games of the season and don't plan on going back to Cousins.
